Russian Visa Support Letter: also known as a Tourist Acceptance Voucher and is issued by a licensed Russian tour operator and acceptable to the Russian Consulates worldwide.
A Russian Visa Support Letter must accompany your visa application in order to obtain a visa for travel to Russia. A Visa Support Letter alone does not grant entry to Russia.
Registration: Most hotels and some hostels will register your visa in Russia for a small fee – visas need to be registered within 7 working days of arrival in Russia.
Apartment Agencies may also offer this service.
Baltic cruises: If arriving by ship into St Petersburg, a tourist visa is not required if you are joining organised group excursions provided by the cruise liner only, returning to the ship with your tor group. You may not leave the port at any other time.
You may book your own private excursions, with a bona fide accredited agent, supplying your passport details in advance. In this case you will not need a visa, however your time ashore will be strictly limited to the shore excursion supplied.
Passengers wishing to disembark or return to the cruise ship independently MUST obtain a Russian visa in advance.
